The USMC Pre MCMAP Rubber M9-Style Training Bayonet
The bayonet was contracted in the early 1990's
It was introduced during the Marine Corps Close Combat Program (CCCP)
and remained in use into the early days of the MCMAP of today |

The presence of the BUCK 188 marking (Buck's commercial model designation for the M9)
shows that the bayonet used for marking the mold was unquestionably a Buck commercial M9 made in 1987.
This was a time when Buck and Phrobis were still cooperating together on the original U.S. Army M9 bayonet contract.
Due to its poor durability, this training bayonet / knife, has almost been lost to history. (H.B.)
